YEAR ROUND 24/7 Taxi Service and Shuttle Rides for Rafters on the Truckee River in summer.
WHAT WE DO: Truckee River Taxi provides 24/7 taxi service YEAR ROUND in the North Lake Tahoe Area, Reno and Truckee airport transfers, and shuttle rides for rafters on the Truckee River.
TAXI SERVICE IN NORTH LAKE TAHOE AREA: We do not have meters - we charge for mileage only - Rates depend on # of passengers and clear/snowy road conditions. What does this mean for you? No pickup or drop off fees and you can depend on the fare being the same each time you ride with us no matter what the traffic or weather might do!
SUMMERTIME RIVER SHUTTLES: Floating the Truckee River is a favorite North Lake Tahoe pastime. It's FREE to float the river and you can either bring your own boats/rafts or rent from one of the two commercial companies in Tahoe City. Truckee River Taxi offers taxi service to/from the river and shuttles if you drive your own car to the river. Our aim at Truckee River Taxi is to give you flexibility while you enjoy one of the funnest activities in North Lake Tahoe...floating the Mighty Truckee!
GETTING TO/FROM THE RIVER:
ROUND TRIP RIDES: Avoid parking hassles and DUIs! The best way to get to the river is to have Truckee River Taxi pick you up with your gear and pets at your house/hotel and take you home when you're finished. We can drop you off at the check-in for the commercial companies or at the public launch (very close to a grocery store and places to buy/inflate rafts). Nobody has to worry about having "too good of a time" on the river, and no cars are left parked overnight.
DRIVING YOURSELF: When you are driving your group to the river, please plan to bring the minimum number of cars that fit your group and gear. Parking all along the river is very limited, so help free up space for others by not bringing extra cars just for shuttling. Truckee River Taxi can shuttle just 1 person or your entire group back to your parked car when you are done floating.
SHUTTLE INFO: SPLIT THE RIDE AND SAVE $$$!
Only $5 per person! (See website www.TruckeeRiverTaxi.com for more details on shuttle options).
You'll find our BLUE VANS at the take-out by the River Ranch and shuttles run about every 20 minutes (as the vans fill up), so you don't have to worry about adhering to a schedule or missing a ride. You can either pre-arrange rides for your group or just load up in one of the vans when you are ready. The shuttle route is between the River Ranch and the public parking areas near the dam in Tahoe City. Flat rates. Dogs welcome. Plenty of room to load up your coolers, deflated rafts and other river goodies.
WHAT'S THE DEAL WITH THIS SECTION OF THE RIVER: In this top section of the Truckee River the rapids are class I (at most)...there are no guides on this 5-mile section of the Truckee River because you don't need one. People of all ages can enjoy floating the Truckee River! Bring a raft or rent a raft, but no matter how you float the river, Truckee River Taxi can help make your day on the river as fun and easy as possible.
